â?? Jeffersonvilleâ??s Sabrina Johnson
scored 14 points for the juniors, but the senior stars came back from 15 points
down to win the first game of an Indiana All-Star twinbill June 14 at Forest Park.
â??I
felt pretty good out there,â? Johnson said, flashing a smile afterwards. â??I kind
of wasnâ??t sure how Iâ??d do out there, but it was fun. We wanted to win â?¦ we
almost did. But we played real well.â?
The
juniors led 50-35 early in the second half but couldnâ??t hang on as the seniors
mounted a rally behind the offense of Miss Basketball Amber Harris, who
finished with 17 points, and Audrey McDonald of Kokomo, who hit four 3-pointers and scored 14
in the win.
Taâ??Shia
Phillips of Brebeuf led the junior stars with 16 points.
Johnson,
who shot 7 of 13 from the field and grabbed four rebounds in the loss, added
that she wouldnâ??t mind being back in an All-Star uniform next season on the
senior squad.
â??I
wouldnâ??t mind coming back,â? she said. â??Itâ??d be pretty nice to play in another
one of these.â?
