HANAPEPE – Menehune senior kicker Cody Owen’s 49-yard field goal with 1:44 left in the game salvaged a 10-10 draw with the visiting Kapa`a Warriors (1-5-1 overall, 0-4-1 KIF) on Waimea’s homecoming night at Hanapepe Stadium.

The tie clinches the 2008 Kaua`i Interscholastic Federation varsity football title for the idle Kaua`i Red Raiders (6-0 overall, 4-0 KIF) with only two games remaining in the league’s regular season.
The Red Raiders celebrate their homecoming festivities next Friday, October 31st, with junior varsity and varsity contests at Vidinha Stadium against visiting Waimea (3-3-1 overall, 2-2-1 KIF).
The Warriors close out the 2008 season when they host Kaua`i High on November 7th at the Kapa`a New Town Park field.
