June 12-14 Session 3, University of Oklahoma Sooners Football Camp

Over 450 camp attendees each session…

In spite of one Tornado evacuation to the basement at OU our athletes
was running full throttle for three days participating in every
practice session.  Our athletes had the undivided attention from Chris
Wilson (Defensive Ends Coach), including Head Coach Bob Stoops who
attended camp activities everyday.  Coach Wilson had also asked the
Hawaii boys to go up against the senior class of 2010 for the one on
one drills which every true offensive lineman were averaging over 6’5”
300 lbs, but that did not stop our boys from getting the exposure and
attention they needed to represent Hawaii.

The last local athlete to be recognized here at Oklahoma Sooners was CJ
Ah You who is now playing for the St Louis Rams.  Coach Wilson repeatedly shared with us that CJ Ah You was one of the greatest athlete he has ever worked with in his entire coaching career.

Quote by Coach Wadsley Abihai:  The football talent here in Oklahoma
was an eye opening experience for me and our boys from Hawaii, after
coaching for over 25 years the skill of training and preparing the kids
on the off season  has changed tremendously, i would like to encourage
all of our local coaching staff to go out and experience what the
different programs has to offer.

June 17-20  Session 4, University Of Texas Longhorns, Speed and Explosive Camp by Coach Mack Brown/Jeff “Mad Dog” Madden

Quote: Coach Wadsley Abihai

This Camp was also another very good experience for our athletes, Jeff
Madden (Head Strenghthening Coach) Donnie Maibe (Asst Strenghtening
Coach) offers the most recent and innovative training techniques that
continue to prepare their Longhorns for national championships year
after year, we also had the opportunity to congratulate our local boy
and new Assistant Head Coach Duane Akina.  Overall our Hawaii athletes
have matured so much over these past two weeks we cant wait to return
home and eat some Hawaiian food.
