DS Reporter – DigitalSports has proudly launched a new tool for students and student-athletes alike to get more involved in their school community while honing their sports journalism skills. By joining the DS Reporter team, aspiring sports writers around the country will have access to a specialized DS Style Guide and unique DS Story Starters — created by a former, long-time Washington Post sports writer – designed to help teach students the specifics of writing game stories, feature stories, opinion blogs and season/game previews. Not only will the DS Reporters have their work published online so they can promote their school and build their own portfolio, but they will also be eligible to win prizes and scholarships!
DS National Rankings – Beginning this Fall we’re unveiling our own Top 100 national football ranking compiled using a cutting-edge combination of human analysis and quantitative measurement, making DigitalSports the first to bridge the gap between objective statistics and consensus of opinion. The rankings, powered by iSEEK, are also distinct as they are the only system to consider a multitude of criteria, including win-loss record, strength of schedule, home-field advantage and our unique team momentum component that gauges who’s hot and who’s not!
DS Mobile – Teachers, coaches, parents, students and fans can now go mobile with DigitalSports and post updates on any sports event around the country! DS National Calendar – Leveraging state-of-the-art technology, our new national calendar, powered by iSEEK, will allow users to find game dates, times and locations for every high school sports event nation-wide! Visitors to the DS National Calendar will now also be able to quickly and easily submit scores for their teams directly from the calendar so it updates instantly!
DS Top 10 Plays & Sports Spotlight – Schools from around the country can now have their highlight reels –and school pages — featured on the new DigitalSports national home page! Schools with active community contributors will be chosen to showcase their teams and the talents of their student-writers. Coaches can also submit highlight reels and Top 10 plays to showcase the accomplishments of their student-athletes!
